OUR HISTORY

We provide health to poor people!

The Bhavana Foundation was established by Late BhavanaRamadas and Mrs Rajamma (Rajarajeswari) in 1995 to help the needy people of their village and surrounding ones. They would gather all the sick people to get free medical aid from the Bhavana children who visited them in weekends. They would provide them with medicine generously. Their children pledged to help the needy villagers at their parent’s behest. They then thought it worthy to conduct a free medical camp in the village to provide their people with specialty services as well as preventive services. The first camp was conducted at Relli village on 1st June, 1997.  It was attended by doctors of all specialties from Visakhapatnam.

We have conducted another camp in Relli on 19-9-1999. At the request of people of Reddipalli village Bhavana foundation organized a major medical camp on 20-7-2000. Large number of people from Reddipalli, Padmanabham, Palem and Chinnapuram could utilize our services. On 24-2-2002, The Foundation with the help of NSDRC, Visakhapatnam organized one of the biggest medical camps at Relli. More than four thousand people attended the camp. We could also provide investigative facilities like ECHO, Ultrasound, Blood tests and Fine needle aspiration cytology. We found many cases of anemia, new onset diabetes, hypertension and malaria. Not only have we provided them treatment on the spot, but also gave them follow up service. Our Pathologist found one case of lymph gland tuberculosis and one case of lymphoma. We felt happy that we picked up the cases at an earlier stage.

There was an epidemic of Falciparum malaria in AppannadoraPalem near Relli village. We went there on 15-10-2006 with special microscopes for QBC and discovered 30 cases of Falciparum malaria and gave them treatment. We also organized mosquito eradication programs with the help of the health department. Those who were found to have cataract were arranged surgical facility at Government eye hospital, Visakhapatnam. We could also arrange transportation for the elderly people. Under the auspices of Bhavana Foundation we have been providing free medical consultation services both inpatient and outpatient for the patients hailing from Relli, AppannadoraPalem and MummaniPalem. Yearly, we have been providing school bags and stationery for school children.

We have been replenishing food plates and glasses for the children in the hostel. Not only do we help them for better education, but also counsel them regarding higher education and job opportunities. The Foundation has planted many trees in the village and organized supply of saplings from forest department. We contributed to furnish Panchayat office of Relli village. The foundation also contributed to the development of Sri Venkateswara temple complex at Kothavalasa by TTD.
